Apprentice Mechanic

$20–$30 an hour              Full-Time              8-hour Shift        Overtime

Responsibilities:

General maintenance and repairs Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Qualifications:

Must be able to register as an apprentice

Must have own tools, steel-toed safety boots

– Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems

– Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems

– Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications

– Perform scheduled maintenance service

Mechanical Repairer Specific Skills

– Diagnose faults and malfunctions

– Inspect and test mechanical units

– Test and adjust units to specifications
